Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Waupaca had an population of 5,949 people. This is a decrease of 1.98% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 4.81% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Waupaca had a population of 6,069 people (which is 11.58% of the total population of Waupaca County). This makes Waupaca the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Waupaca represents 0.11% of the population of Wisconsin (which has 5,686,986 people), making it the state's 156th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 6,069 people, the population of Waupaca increased 6.92% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 5,676 people).

We originally found mention of Waupaca in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Waupaca was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Waupaca post office opened in 1850.

We also found Waupaca in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
