Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Carrboro had an population of 21,202 people. This is an increase of 8.27% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 26.34% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Carrboro had a population of 19,582 people (or 14.64% of the total population of Orange County). This makes Carrboro the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Carrboro represents 0.21% of the population of North Carolina (which has 9,535,483 people), making it the state's 45th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 19,582 people, the population of Carrboro increased 16.68% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 16,782 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Carrboro was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Carrboro post office opened in 1914.
