Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Smyrna had an population of 56,563 people. This is an increase of 10.32% since the 2010 Census.

At the time of the 2010 Census, Smyrna had a population of 51,271 people (or 7.44% of the total population of Cobb County). This makes Smyrna the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Smyrna represents 0.53% of the population of Georgia (which has 9,687,653 people), making it the state's 13th most populous community.
