Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Alpharetta had an population of 67,281 people. This is an increase of 16.91% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 93.04% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Alpharetta had a population of 57,551 people (or 6.22% of the total population of Fulton County). This makes Alpharetta the county's 5th most populous community.

The population of Alpharetta represents 0.59% of the total population of Georgia (which has 9,687,653 people), making it the state's 10th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 57,551 people, the population of Alpharetta increased 65.12% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 34,854 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Alpharetta was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Alpharetta post office opened in 1858.

We also found Alpharetta on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1874.
