Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Austell had an population of 7,170 people. This is an increase of 8.95% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 33.79% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Austell had a population of 6,581 people. This makes Austell the county's 6th most populous community.

The population of Austell represents 0.07% of the total population of Georgia (which has 9,687,653 people), making it the state's 101st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 6,581 people, the population of Austell increased 22.8% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 5,359 people).
