From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Tonopah was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Tonopah post office opened in 1934.

We also found Tonopah on a map titled Shell Oil Road Map for Arizona (1956).
