The location of Catron has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Catron, you might consider that their post office opened in 1891. While the community is gone, the present day location for Catron is 2,070 feet [631 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Catron was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time Catron would have been located in the (276) area code.
