How Far From Catron to ...
We spend a lot of time looking through Gazetteers & Almanacs that were published in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many of the Gazetteers include the distance from a community such as Catron to various places of note, such as the White House.
With a nod to our favorite Gazetteers and using the location of where the historic<4> community of Catron once stood, the straight-line distance beginning in Catron and extending to:
- Wytheville, which is the Seat of Wythe County, lies just to the North Northwest.
- Richmond, which is the State Capital of Virginia, lies 203 miles [326.7 km]<1> to the east northeast (ENE). If you could drive a straight line from Catron to Richmond, with an average speed<5>of 63 miles [101.4 km] per hour, it would take a little over three hours to make the trip.
