At the time of the 2010 Census, the Town of Oyster Bay had a population of 293,214 people (or 21.89% of the total population of Nassau County). This makes Oyster Bay the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Oyster Bay represents 1.51% of the total population of New York (which has 19,378,102 people), making it the state's 6th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 293,214 people, the population of Oyster Bay has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (which had a count of 293,925 people).
