From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Owls Head was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Owls Head post office opened in 1892.

We also found Owls Head on a map titled Rand McNally Map of New York (1897).
