The origin (or the toponymy) of Shores: Named after George Shore; an early settler in this area.
While the community is gone, the present day location for Shores is 5,770 feet [1,759 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Shores is about 1 mile [or 1¾ km] above sea level.
Time Zone: The area where Shores was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time
Note: If you leave Shores and travel east, you will leave Pacific Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT).
