From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Contact was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>
From that list, the Contact post office opened in 1897.
We also found Contact mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (June 1939).
