Bethel would have been located within present day Roosevelt County<2>.

The location of Bethel has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>

While we don't have a date for the founding of Bethel, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1902.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Bethel is 4,060 feet [1,237 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Bethel is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Bethel was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

Note: If you travel east from Bethel (for example, toward Muleshoe (TX)), you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).

If Bethel still existed, it would have been in the (575) area code.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Bethel was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Bethel post office opened in 1902.
