The location of Lost Lake has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Lost Lake, you might consider that their post office opened in 1915. While the community is gone, the present day location for Lost Lake is 2,880 feet [878 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Lost Lake is about ½ mile above sea level.
