We aren't confident of the location of Luce, so consider the above location as an estimate.<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Luce, you might consider that their post office opened in 1890. The origin (or the toponymy) of Luce: Named after Cyrus G. Luce, who was governor from 1887 to 1890. While the community is gone, the present day location for Luce is 590 feet [180 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Luce was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time Luce would have been located in the (989) area code.
