The community of Saginaw is the Seat for Saginaw County.

Saginaw County was founded ? and was created by taking area from Oakland County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Saginaw had a population of 190,484 people. This is a decrease of 4.84% since the last Census (which gave a population of 200,169 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Saginaw represented 2.03% of the total population of Michigan.
