With a 2010 count of 3,150 people, the population of Franklin increased 7.25% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 2,937 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Franklin was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<10>

From that list, the Franklin post office opened in 1828.

We also found Franklin in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
