Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, San Luis had an population of 34,838 people. This is an increase of 36.59% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 127.37% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, San Luis had a population of 25,505 people (or 12.94% of the total population of Yuma County). This makes San Luis the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of San Luis represents 0.4% of the total population of Arizona (which has 6,392,017 people), making it the state's 30th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 25,505 people, the population of San Luis increased 66.46% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 15,322 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for San Luis was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the San Luis post office opened in 1930.
