While we don't have a date for the founding of Zane, you might consider that their post office opened in 1925. While the community is gone, the present day location for Zane is 5,200 feet [1,585 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Zane is about 1 mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Zane was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel west from Zane, you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT).
