Welcome to McCornick (aka 'Pahvant') ...

So far, we found very little information about McCornick. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

McCornick would have been located within present day Millard County<2>.

McCornick was established in 1919.

While the community is gone, the present day location for McCornick is 4,740 feet [1,445 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of McCornick is about ¾ mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level.

We originally found mention of McCornick in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for McCornick was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

X2X - From that list, the McCornick post office opened in 1920.

We also found McCornick mentioned on a train schedule titled Union Pacific Railroad Time Tables (September 1924).
