The Atlas had details such as the population of the community (which appears to have come from the 1890 Census) and whether there was a post office and/or railroad service available. The Rand McNally Atlas shows that New Straitsville had a population of 2,782 people in 1895 with a post office and railroad service. In 2020, New Straitsville had a population of 715 people.
