The location of Marmol has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Marmol, you might consider that their post office opened in 1891. While the community is gone, the present day location for Marmol is 5,020 feet [1,530 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Marmol is about 1 mile [or ~1½ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Marmol was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time If Marmol still existed, it would have been in the (775) area code.
