Welcome to Yankee ...So far, we found very little information about Yankee. The location of Yankee has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Yankee, you might consider that their post office opened in 1906. While the community is gone, the present day location for Yankee is 7,050 feet [2,149 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Yankee is about 1¼ mile [or ~2¼ km] above sea level.
