So far, we found very little information about Brilliant. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Brilliant would have been located within present day Colfax County<2>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Brilliant, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1906.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Brilliant is 7,160 feet [2,182 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Brilliant is about 1¼ mile [or ~2¼ km] above sea level.

We originally found mention of Brilliant in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Brilliant was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Brilliant post office opened in 1906.
