Vera Cruz would have been located within present day Lincoln County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Vera Cruz, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1881.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Vera Cruz is 6,990 feet [2,131 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Vera Cruz is about 1¼ mile [or ~2¼ km] above sea level.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Vera Cruz was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Vera Cruz post office opened in 1881.
