Welcome to Tolar ...So far, we found very little information about Tolar. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Tolar to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Tolar, please Contact Us. Tolar would have been located within present day Roosevelt County<2>. The location of Tolar has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Tolar, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was on a map dated 1925. While the community is gone, the present day location for Tolar is 4,220 feet [1,286 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Tolar is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Tolar was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel east from Tolar (for example, toward Farwell (TX)), you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).
