The location of La Puente has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of La Puente, you might consider that their post office opened in 1920. While the community is gone, the present day location for La Puente is 7,260 feet [2,213 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of La Puente is about 1½ mile [or ~2¼ km] above sea level.
