At the time of the 2010 Census, Northfield had a population of 4,829 people. This makes Northfield the county's 9th most populous community.

The population of Northfield represents 0.37% of the total population of New Hampshire (which has 1,316,470 people), making it the state's 71st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 4,829 people, the population of Northfield increased 6.18% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 4,548 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Northfield was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Northfield post office opened in 1814.

We also found Northfield in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
