At the time of the 2010 Census, Verona had a population of 3,006 people. This makes Verona the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Verona represents 0.1% of the population of Mississippi (which has 2,967,297 people), making it the state's 82nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 3,006 people, the population of Verona decreased 9.84% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 3,334 people).

We originally found mention of Verona in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Verona was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Verona post office opened in 1857.

We also found Verona in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
