Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Marceline had an population of 2,077 people. This is a decrease of 6.99% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 18.8% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Marceline had a population of 2,233 people (which is 17.5% of the total population of Linn County). This makes Marceline the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Marceline represents 0.04% of the total population of Missouri (which has 5,988,927 people), making it the state's 222nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,233 people, the population of Marceline decreased 12.71% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 2,558 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Marceline was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

We also found Marceline on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1904.
