Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Marceline had an population of 2,077 people. This is a decrease of 6.99% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 18.8% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Marceline had a population of 2,233 people (or 17.5% of the total population of Linn County). This makes Marceline the county's 2nd most populous community.

We originally found mention of Marceline in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Marceline was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

We also found Marceline on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1904.
