Mansfield was located in the western region of Michigan's Upper Peninsula (UP).

Mansfield would have been located within present day Iron County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Mansfield, you might consider that their post office opened in 1891.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Mansfield is 1,380 feet [421 m] above sea level.<3>.

Time Zone: The area where Mansfield was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

We originally found mention of Mansfield in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Mansfield was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Mansfield post office opened in 1891. The Mansfield post office closed in 1913.
