Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Alpha had an population of 134 people. This is a decrease of 7.59% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 32.32% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Alpha had a population of 145 people. This makes Alpha the county's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 145 people, the population of Alpha decreased 26.77% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 198 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Alpha was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Alpha post office opened in 1913.
