The origin (or the toponymy) of Corbin: Named after Daniel Chase Corbin (1836-1918), president of the Nelson and Fort Sheppard Railway.

Corbin is 5,480 feet [1,670 m] above sea level.<1> In other words, the elevation of Corbin is about 1 mile [or ~1¾ km] above sea level.
