Cobb County was founded in 1832 and was created by taking area from Cherokee County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Cobb had a population of 760,141 people. This is an increase of 10.25% since the last Census (which gave a population of 689,495 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Cobb represented 7.12% of the total population of Georgia.
