Etna would have been located within present day Decatur County<2>.

The location of Etna has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>

While we don't have a date for the founding of Etna, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1852.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Etna is 370 feet [113 m] above sea level.<4>.

Time Zone: The area where Etna was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Etna still existed, it would have been in the (731) area code.

We originally found mention of Etna in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Etna was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Etna post office opened in 1852.
