While we don't have a date for the founding of Parsons, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Parsons has a population of 2,280 people<3> (see below for details).

Population Details ...

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Parsons had an population of 2,280 people. This is a decrease of 3.92% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 7.01% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Parsons had a population of 2,373 people (or 20.18% of the total population of Decatur County). This makes Parsons the county's most populous community.

The population of Parsons represents 0.04% of the total population of Tennessee (which has 6,346,105 people), making it the state's 149th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,373 people, the population of Parsons decreased 3.22% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 2,452 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Parsons was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
