So far, we found very little information about Oldtown. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Oldtown would have been located within present day Mason County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Oldtown, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1891.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Oldtown is 610 feet [186 m] above sea level.<3>.

We originally found mention of Oldtown in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Oldtown was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

X2X - From that list, the Oldtown post office opened in 1891.

We also found Oldtown in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

<1>We use the term 'Historic' broadly and it generally means that the community no longer exists. However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Oldtown, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.

<3>The elevation is an estimate for the area around Oldtown - it will be higher in some places and lower in others.
