Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Mason had an population of 936 people. This is a decrease of 3.31% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 12.03% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Mason had a population of 968 people. This makes Mason the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Mason represents 0.05% of the population of West Virginia (which has 1,852,994 people), making it the state's 112nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 968 people, the population of Mason decreased 9.02% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,064 people).
