From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cave Spring was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Cave Spring post office opened in 1847.

We also found Cave Spring in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
