How Far From Fort Kanab to ...

We spend a lot of time looking through Gazetteers, Almanacs & Directories that were published in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many of the Gazetteers include the distance from a community such as Fort Kanab to various places of note, such as the White House.

With a nod to our favorite Gazetteers and using the location of where the historic<3> community of Fort Kanab once stood, the straight-line distance<4> beginning in Fort Kanab and extending to:

• Kanab, which is the Seat of Kane County, lies just to the East Southeast.
• Salt Lake City, which is the State Capital of Utah, lies 258 miles [415.2 km]<4> to the north (N). If you could drive a straight line from Fort Kanab to Salt Lake City, with an average speed<5>of 63 miles [101.4 km] per hour, it would take four to five hours to make the trip.
