Welcome to Tascosa ...So far, we found very little information about Tascosa. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Tascosa to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Tascosa, please Contact Us. Tascosa was located in the Texas Panhandle. Tascosa would have been located within present day Oldham County<2>. The location of Tascosa has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Tascosa, you might consider that their post office opened in 1878. While the community is gone, the present day location for Tascosa is 3,170 feet [966 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Tascosa is about ½ mile above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Tascosa was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you leave Tascosa and travel west, you will leave Central Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT).
