At the time of the 2010 Census, Snyder had a population of 11,202 people (which is 66.2% of the total population of Scurry County). This makes Snyder the county's most populous community.

The population of Snyder represents 0.04% of the total population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 200th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 11,202 people, the population of Snyder increased 3.89% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 10,783 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Snyder was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Snyder post office opened in 1883.
