At the time of the 2010 Census, Lone Star had a population of 1,581 people (which is 12.24% of the total population of Morris County). This makes Lone Star the county's 2nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,581 people, the population of Lone Star decreased 3.07% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,631 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Lone Star was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>
