We have great-grandparents who lived in a small city in the southeast corner of their home county. During their lives, most doctors were in the next county to the east. Almost all of the nearby churches and cemeteries were in the county to the south.

A straight line distance ignores obstructions like rivers, canyons, lakes, et cetera - it's truly a line drawn from Point A (ie- Levelland) to Point B.Our distance measurements begin at a specific point in Levelland. The point we use is located at these GPS coordinates - Latitude: 33.5805, Longitude: -102.3641       In this case, the coordinates for Levelland have been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS).
