Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Grand Prairie had an population of 194,419 people. This is an increase of 10.85% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 52.57% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Grand Prairie had a population of 175,396 people (which is 7.41% of the total population of Dallas County). This makes Grand Prairie the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Grand Prairie represents 0.7% of the population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 15th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 175,396 people, the population of Grand Prairie increased 37.64% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 127,427 people).
