The community of Fort Worth is the Seat for Tarrant County.

Tarrant County was founded in 1849 and was created by taking area from Navarro County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Tarrant had a population of 2,101,282 people. This is an increase of 16.15% since the last Census (which gave a population of 1,809,034 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Tarrant represented 7.19% of the total population of Texas.
