At the time of the 2010 Census, Alma had a population of 331 people. This makes Alma the county's 15th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 331 people, the population of Alma increased 9.6% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 302 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Alma was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Alma post office opened in 1881.

We also found Alma in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
