At the time of the 2010 Census, Allen had a population of 84,246 people (which is 10.7% of the total population of Collin County). This makes Allen the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Allen represents 0.34% of the population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 38th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 84,246 people, the population of Allen increased 93.43% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 43,554 people).
