At the time of the 2010 Census, Ramona had a population of 174 people. This makes Ramona the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Ramona represents 0.02% of the population of South Dakota (which has 814,180 people), making it the state's 257th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 174 people, the population of Ramona decreased 8.42% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 190 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Ramona was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

We also found Ramona in the book titled .<7> From that list, the Ramona post office opened in 1901.
