Population Details ...

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Howard had an population of 757 people. This is a decrease of 11.77% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 29.32% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Howard had a population of 858 people (or 35.91% of the total population of Miner County). This makes Howard the county's most populous community.

The population of Howard represents 0.11% of the population of South Dakota (which has 814,180 people), making it the state's 101st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 858 people, the population of Howard decreased 19.89% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,071 people).
